LAUREN RUHLING

A Maryland native, Lauren Ruhling is Co-Owner and Director of Business Operations at Backstage Dance Studio, where she oversees the business, financial, administrative, staffing, marketing, and strategic operations of the studio. A University of Maryland alumna with a degree in Mathematics, 

Lauren brings more than a decade of professional experience in business operations, management, data analysis, and organizational leadership, including nearly a decade of service within the federal government. She brings an organized, thoughtful, and growth-focused approach to ensuring Backstage remains a strong, dependable organization where dancers, families, and staff feel supported.

Lauren is a lifelong dancer and YPAD-Certified Dance Educator with more than 10 years of teaching experience throughout the Maryland dance community. Her commitment to dance education and community outreach began well before studio ownership. Throughout college, Lauren developed and led dance education outreach initiatives across the Maryland metro area, creating and managing programs designed to make quality dance education more accessible to local children.

Outside of Backstage, Lauren works in emergency medicine and is nationally and state certified in her field. Her diverse experience in business, dance education, community outreach, and healthcare shapes her commitment to professionalism, safety, strong leadership, and providing families with a studio experience they can feel confident in.
