Registration is now open for our 2026–2027 dance season!

Backstage Dance Studio offers recreational dance classes for dancers ages 2 through adult in Columbia, MD. With classes in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, acro, technique, conditioning and more, there is something for every dancer from their very first class through advanced training.

Our recreational program is designed to help dancers build strong technique, confidence, creativity, friendships, and a love of dance in a positive and supportive environment.

Levels/Ages

ROCK-N-TOTS 2-3 | PETITE 4-6 | MINI 7-9 | JUNIOR 10-12 | TEEN 13-15 | SENIOR 16-18 | ADULT 18+

Use the listed ages as a guideline when choosing your dancer's class. If your dancer is very experienced, we recommend considering a higher level. During September, we will evaluate all classes. If we believe your dancer should move to a different level, either higher or lower, we will email you to adjust their schedule accordingly.
