TYPE	DESCRIPTION
Rockin' Tots Age 2-3	A Wonderful Introduction to Dance! A program designed for pre-schoolers to experience the dance studio atmosphere while having the freedom to express their creativity through songs, rhythm, props and movement.
Tap & Tumble Age 3-4	This fun class is perfect for the child who wants to do it all! The 40-minute class will move them through tap, warm-up, & tumble. Always a mix!  Always a variety!  A sure pleaser for all pre-schoolers.
Pre-Ballet Age 3-6	A ballet class designed specifically for pre-school children, including basic floor stretches, the eight basic movements of dance and positions of the feet and arms.
Pre-Tap Age 3-6	An introduction to tap for pre-school children. Classes are created to increase fine motor skills, musical awareness and basic tap sounds to later build upon.
Pre-Jazz Age 5-6	Designed for those dancers who enjoy be-bopping to upbeat music. This class increases flexibility and introduces movement with body awareness.
Ballet Basics Age 7 & up	A class incorporating basic ballet fundamentals, terminology and use of space.
Tap Basics Age 7 & up	This class emphasizes rhythm and timing along with combining basic tap steps. Movement and song make this a fun learning experience for young dancers.
Tap	A lively form of dance using basic to intricate rhythms. Students learn a variety of tap styles and techniques along with proper body alignment.
Jazz	A high-energy class combining various jazz styles including classical, Broadway theatre, contemporary and funk.
Cecchetti Method Ballet	Backstage Dance Studio offers class in Cecchetti Method of classical ballet for students who want an extra challenge. The Cecchetti Method is based on the teaching of Enrico Cecchetti, the Italian ballet master. Students participating are able to concentrate more on technique and artistry through their studies in the method, and are able to be presented for exams in front of registered examiners all the way through diploma level.  Our ballet Mistress holds the "Enrico Cecchetti" diploma which is the highest level of certification available in this method.
Lyrical	An expressive, yet technically challenging, form of dance that combines ballet, jazz and modern dance styles. All lyrical students must be enrolled in at least one ballet class per week.
Modern	A form of contemporary theatrical and concert dance with a special technique for developing the use of the entire body in movements expressive of abstract ideas.
Hip Hop Age 8-Teen	Move and groove to your favorite music while learning the newest video dance steps.
